Jake Zyrus admitted about the choices that he made in his life, remembering the past that he was still “Charice”

When he glances back at old videos of him—in pretty clothes and belting out vigor songs—he does not see himself, but a different character.

“It’s like watching my little sister,” told recording singer Jake Zyrus, who was earlier recognized as Charice.

But the 25-year-old singer, who declared his new identity on social media isn’t out to totally obliterate Charice from his life. According to Jake, he’s just letting her go to open the way for the character he has been all along.

Adjusting his name was just one of the initial actions in his “journey” as a tran’sman—in his course to a growing whole.

And just lately, Jake had a conversation through a digital media gathering.

At first, it’s all about his new success.

He got a top prize at the United States International Film and Video Festival.

At the said conference, Jake was questioned about his regrets in his life choices.

He then explained it as a roller coaster ride.
“Regrets. I can’t count. there’s so many, parang roller coaster na din po kasi, sometimes iba naisip ko,” he stated.

He then said that he also regrets that he has done discovered earlier as Charice.

“I regret being discovered as Charice, or minsan I wish na discover na ito na ako, para hindi na ako nahihirapan.”

He also said that he’s happy those disappointments occurred because he grows to realize who he really is.

“So many regrets… siguro po noong hindi ko pa nare-realize na ‘yung regrets na ‘yun will turn into something beautiful,”
Charice chose to be Jake Zyrus back in 2013 when he made the announcement.
