Nearly 200 requests have been collected for the trademark glasses of former adult movie star Mia Khalifa who chose to auction the item for at least $100k to support the victims of the Beirut blast.
It can be remembered that over 200 people lost their lives to the explosion that happened at the port of Beirut in Lebanon last August 4. Plenty is still missing and thousands of people experienced massive damages of property or had numerous injuries due to the blast.
The second blast was really so powerful that it was apprehended hundreds of kilometers away – and the damage sustained by properties spread as far as 10 km from Beirut’s port. It left an estimated 300,000 people homeless!
Fearing that more lives will be lost in the result of the blast as people have nowhere to go but remain in the streets amid the rubble from the blast, a lot of celebrities have expressed help.
Mia was among those who were touched by the incident and had wished to help out any way they could. For now, Mia is raising funds to help the victims of the Beirut blast through the Red Cross. To raise as much money as she could, Mia auctioned off her trademark glasses for a starting bid of $100k.
It’s amazing, actually, that 189 bids have already been made on the item – and more than 1,600 are on the watch list.
“The novelty glasses are the best prop, I will sign them (if you want), and take one last polaroid wearing them before sending them off to their new home!!! I’m adding something more to the auction every $25k raised and announcing it on Instagram,” Mia assured.
Aside from the trademark glasses and the polaroid photo, Mia also plans to add more freebies to make the auction more exciting...
