The hashtag #BOYCOTTBUBBLEGANG became a hot topic on Twitter on August 4 after the gag show did a parody on DJ Loonyo.

Bubble Gang is a Philippine TV sketch comedy show aired by the GMA Network. It is the longest-running gag program which has been entertaining its fans for more than 20 years. The show is recognized for producing parodies of several famous characters in the Philippines and overseas.
Bubble Gang made a DJ Loonyo parody and his supporters were obviously offended and made the hashtag. The joke did not sit well with the supporters of online personality DJ Loonyo, who is also known as a successful TikToker. The show emulated the moves of the dancer/choreographer when he does his TikTok videos and the program used the name DJ Uloolnyo.

While the hashtag #BOYCOTTBUBBLEGANG trended after DJ Loonyo’s fans were bu tthurt, most of the tweets are appearing from people who are supporting the gag show.v Netizens stated that the Kapuso show has been doing parodies for years but no fandom got offended. They assumed that the show was just making some fun to the people and didn’t have the purpose of atta cking DJ Loonyo.

Some netizens speculated that the hashtag trended because of some questionable political problems that the program aired. They were frustrated to find out that it was just Loonyo’s butthurt fans.

In the skit, Bubble Gang mentioned the word ‘smartable’ which is a term that DJ Loonyo stated earlier in his video regarding love and positivity on the micro-blogging site, Twitter.
Loonyo was bas hed by the netizens over his intention to proclaim his so-called words of wisdom stating that there was no such thing as the word ‘smartable’.

In the video, Loonyo told that: “Guys, not eating for 1 day or 2 days or something, right, so maybe God is just pushing you to do more, right. Cause all the blessings all the resources are in front of you already.”

“You just need to be ‘smartable’, you just need to change your perspective, right.”

“So please, right, kung inaalagaan ni God yung pinakamaliit na buhay dito sa buong mundo, how much more ikaw, na ikaw yung nakatira talaga dito sa mundong to. Isa ka sa pinakamajor na nag coconsume ng resources dito sa mundo right so that’s it.”

The video which was assumed to radiate positivity and love earned the criticism of netizens.
It can be assembled that the Tiktok star also made titles following his controversial remark about C0VID-19 mass testing in the country.

His narrative via a live audience was not approved by the netizens with some reprimanding his “knowledge” regarding mass testing.

During a live stream taken by local hip-hop artist Mr. Mainit-Kenjhons, Loonyo gave his stand on mass testing, which he originally declared as a “trial and error” method of vaccination, as opposed to administering tests to learn if people have got the novel c0ronavirus or not.
“My question is, bakit pa mag ma-mass testing? If ever sasabihin mong itong vaccine na ito is 100%… na gagana, bakit mo ima-mass testing? Right? So ibig sabihin, ‘yung mass testing kawawa ‘yun! Kung sino ‘yung kasama sa mass testing na ‘yun, good luck kung anong reaction ‘yung gagawin ng katawan mo kung kabilang ka dun sa mass testing!” Loonyo said.

He received flak over the said comment on C0VID-19 mass testing, a term he confessed to having used incorrectly.

He issued a declaration, where he confessed: “for the wrong use of terminology in that particular instance.”

“I was actually referring to ‘CLINICAL TRIALS’. I understand that the use of terminology is critical, so I apologize for any confusion caused,” he stated.

He then urged both fans and haters to watch the whole live stream for them to know that they were talking about pharmaceutical corporations and the “business over integrity” system.
He was featured in a Magpakailanman episode which also caught the attention of the online community for “his side of the story” and airing the side of his ex-partner Aika Flores.

Aika, who was the mother of his child who passed away, expressed her ire against the online sensation for altering some parts of the story.

On Facebook, Aika revealed their ‘real’ story, which was allegedly reversed by DJ Loonyo.

She said that they separated because Loonyo cheated on her. The influencer seemed to have ‘side chicks’ while they were in a relationship contrary to what Loonyo made it look like where they broke up because of her extreme jealousy and being unsupportive of his career.

Flores said that Lonnyo called her and suggested abo rting their child but she refused.v She also denied that she hid their child from Loonyo and noted that he never reached out to them. In 2017, their child died and that is the first and last time that Loonyo saw his son.

Meanwhile, the team of DJ Loonyo apologized on his behalf to all parties that were offended by the retelling of his life story as they did not intend to do so, most of all, on the part of his deceased son.
